Meet the Team

Our Founders

Jared  A. Stevenson

Jared was shown the movie Twister in his early childhood and was immediately obsessed with severe weather. During the early 2010's, Jared began storm chasing and has been at it ever since. After the events of the May 31st, 2013 El Reno, Oklahoma Tornado, Jared turned his sights on the scientific aspect of storm chasing and set plans in motion which eventually lead to the formation of CONVEX. Outside of storm chasing, Jared works as a Production Support Analyst. He currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

Blaize Edwards

Blaize's first experience with severe weather was on June 2, 1990 when an F-4 tornado tore through his hometown in Indiana. Although he doesn't remember much of it, he considers this to be the event that triggered his interest. Blaize began watching storms from his neighborhood as soon as he was old enough to ride a bicycle. Blaize took his passion to the next level in 2009 by chasing every storm he could, and learning about the hobby by experiencing Nature first hand.  Blaize has observed more than 100 tornadoes, and countless supercells across the country, including the infamous El Reno tornado of 2013 and the Dodge City tornadoes of 2016. Blaize currently resides in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Evan Coverdill

Evan's passion for weather began around the age of 5 when he started taking more of an interest in thunderstorms. His passion for severe weather really took off in 3rd grade when his teacher showed how the Tri-State Tornado of 1925 ravaged three states (including his home state of Indiana). Evan has been storm chasing since 2013 and saw his first tornado in Lebanon, Indiana during the November 17th tornado outbreak that occurred the same year. Outside of weather, he is passionate about aviation and is licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration as an Aircraft Dispatcher. Evan moved to Columbus, Ohio in 2021 from his hometown of Indianapolis.

             Justin Yerina

Justin knew at a very young age that weather would be one of his passions. He read every book of the weather related section in his elementary school library, and followed that passion to an Atmospheric Science degree from Ohio State in 2014. His first tornado was in Western Indiana in July of 2015 and 20+ have followed in the years since then. Justin currently resides in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
